About Me

 

My story begins with a love for art. Since childhood, I have immersed myself with educating and experimenting with various forms of art. My passion is in the relationship of light and shadow and I have found one of the best mediums to portray this magical relationship is with charcoal. For the past 15 years, I have found emotional release and healing within portrait drawing in charcoal. I have had the opportunity to have my drawings displayed in several juried art shows in which I have consistently received top honors.

 

My passion for drawing was put to the side after the birth of my children. Although I had a lot of inspiration, I did not have the time and focus to keep drawing. I decided to try a new medium. I recalled a photography class that I had taken years ago and remembered how important the relationship of light is to photography. The spark of creativity was lit once more and a new passion was discovered.

 

Since then, I have taken thousands of photographs experimenting with different styles and subjects. My specialty is in capturing the essence of childhood. My preferred style is natural and not posed utilizing the available natural light. When children are allowed to be themselves, the magic of youth is captured and frozen in time through the photograph. The impression left is the fingerprint of that child's own unique personality that transcends time.
